Product Line : Shoes x 1 Buyer ( Senior Merchandiser)
Product Line: Underwear x Buyer ( Senior Merchandiser)
GENERAL MISSION
Responsible for a product line, the buyer is in charge of answering to customers needs and insure the sourcing and its follow-up. He has the responsibility to increase his turnover following the objectives given by the product manager.
-Source suppliers and products according to clients requirements
-Negotiate at best, prices and contract conditions
-Offer appropriate range of products for his product line
-Follow from the sourcing to delivery his offers and orders in terms of quality, packaging, logistics and sales.
-Implement the suppliers’ strategy.
DIRECT MANAGER: Product Manager
FUNCTIONS
SOURCING
The buyer sources suppliers and products according to client’s requirements
-Qualify supplier database (audit, contract, WTA and permanent)
-Know clients requirements and keep informed of the changes of client needs
-Identify the competitive resource areas for his product line and propose new sourcing areas to his direct manager
-Suggest to his PM a selection of the most reliable and performing suppliers according to the quality requirements and Auchan Policies
-Be aware of the industry/product development tendency inside China and collect information about Auchan competitors’ activity.
-Analyze his vendor data base and build a clear strategy. Make actions plan to improve the performance of his vendor’s data base according to supplier scorecard.
OFFERS
He offers appropriate range of products for his product line
-Build product assortment from validated supplier database for each commercial operation plan
-Prepare and validate product information and provide the customer with product datasheet
-Adjust the product offered according to each customer’s request and be responsible for the quotation when AIE VILLENEUVE is not involved in the business process
-Continuously improve his knowledge about product and quality norms regarding the customer market
He negotiates prices and contract conditions at best :
-Negotiate contract terms with supplier according to PM instructions.
-Negotiate the order in terms of supplier, price, quantity, delivery etc., before the order placement (WTA).
-Respect and reinforce the ethical rules of the company with the suppliers
He ensures the follow-up of offers and manages the whole documents related to offer follow-up.
-Make the offer to customers respecting the schedule.
-Follow up samples sending to customers
-Ensure the reception and quality of supplier datasheet.
ORDERS
He is responsible for the good execution of orders and help merchandisers and support departments to achieve objectives
-Follow the order during production phase, monitoring the order processing schedule.
-Solve problems during order processing on the basis of mutual benefits of ATC, customers and suppliers.
-Monitor the sample approval and product adjustment with labs and vendors.
-Keep informed of the process to anticipate and solve directly problems during the order process stage.
-Constantly improve his knowledge of product and quality norm at customer market.
COMMUNICATION
He coordinates and communicates with others departments, clients and suppliers
-Coordinate supplier and customer to reach the best solution for everyone: ATC, customers and suppliers
-Communicate with other department for relevant issues such as quality, delivery or payment to smooth the daily operation concerning his product line.
-Work with his team and support departments with team spirit and service oriented mind to achieve common goals.
All the activities should be on the basis of Auchan ethic rules
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION
Knowledge:
Expertise in a qualified range of product line
Knowledge of international trade
Knowledge of sourcing techniques
Knowledge of computer tools
Fluent English both in spoken & written
