Sportcraft Ltd. has a long and impressive history in the home recreational products market segment. Founded by Walter Holdstein in June 1926, Sportcraft, Ltd. was first incorporated under the name General Sportcraft Co., Ltd. in New York City. The customer base included department stores, hardware stores, sporting goods retailers and team dealers.

Sportcraft was the first in the sporting goods industry to dramatically present sports equipment in a catalog. Among the early products introduced to the American market were Badminton, Darts and Shuffleboard. Sportcraft was a pioneer in the packaging of games for the retail market. In 1933, Sportcraft began offering components such as racquets, nets, poles and shuttlecocks as well as assembling the components in attractive display boxes and selling these sets to their retailers. The first packaged badminton set was created by Sportcraft and its impact has led to the popularity of the backyard version of the game to this day.

Today, Sportcraft has become a leader in indoor, outdoor and table games and has recently expanded into inflatable bounce houses and even the fitness segment with a full line of treadmills and ellipticals. In coming months, Sportcraft will continue to grow through a mix of organic growth as well as an aggressive plan of acquisitions.

Operations are headquartered in Mt. Olive, New Jersey with a liaison office in Hong Kong to manage transportation services, quality control, product development and international sales support for the parent company, Sportcraft, Ltd.
