MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
The Accounting Supervisor is a member of a shared service accounting team that has daily responsibility for three different entities. Strong technical competence in accounting principles and regulations is required. The person must be a good team player that can operate in a matrix environment and on assignment with other Emerson Companies when required. This position includes exposure to all areas of accounting and has very good development potential
Takes key responsibility for Internal Controls and Compliance with both China and US GAAP requirements
Document, map and re-engineer processes to ensure both controls and operational efficiency
Carry out regular checking including all systems, all procedures and financial reports
Assist with the execution of SOX Act, Section 302 and 404 requirements;
Maintains quarterly Disclosure Review Process (such as ICQ, certificates, and other SOX control instruments)
Communicating with Local and Regional Operational Review team, corporate auditors and external auditors, coordinate pre-audit planning and follow up on audit reports/audit points/improvement opportunities
Conduct internal training to improve staff control awareness
Respond to Asia Pacific HQ queries as required.
Work on various accounting related ad hoc projects including functional supervision assignments as required.
Work with other Emerson Companies on short term assignments as assigned
SCOPE
JOB COMPETENCIES, AND COMPETENCY STANDARD NEEDED
EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor degree in Accounting or Business Administration.
CPA required, MBA preferred.
More than 4 years in an audit position in a CPA firm (preferably big 4), or 3 years of audit experience + 2 years F/A experience in multinational companies
Strong knowledge of China and US GAAP.
Be familiar with operation procedures of foreign invested company
.
Proficiency skills in ERP software.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Strong report writing and oral communications skills in both English and Chinese.
Comfortable with working in a shared service environment.
Ability to work under pressure and work independently.
Willing to travel
